Sun Life in Toronto is seeking an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to oversee complex audits, assess risks, and strengthen internal controls across the organization.

The role offers hybrid work, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and exposure to data analytics tools. A CIA/CPA designation and 6 years in financial services auditing are preferred.

You will develop relationships with senior management and contribute to improving risk management and compliance.

Competenze

• 6 years of audit experience in the financial services industry.
• University degree in accounting, finance or business.
• Professional designation – CIA and/or CPA (CRMA, CISA are nice to have)
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate, influence and network effectively
• Knowledge of control frameworks (COSO, COBIT)
• Knowledge of audit techniques, including planning, scoping, project management, evaluation and testing of internal controls
• Knowledge of Corporate areas including Risk Management, Finance, Compliance and AML
• Proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables and V/X-look ups)

Job Description

Job Description: About the role: This role is focused on overseeing and executing audits by assessing risks, evaluating internal controls, making recommendations regarding control deficiencies, and identifying areas of opportunity for improvement. Through audit work, you will have the opportunity to develop competencies around leading discussions with senior management, influencing various levels of management, project management, and building client relationships across the organization.

What do you need to succeed?

• 6 years of audit experience in the financial services industry
• University degree in accounting, finance or business

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to understand complex business processes, their risks and identify key controls
• Knowledge of control frameworks (e.g. COSO, COBIT, etc)
• Knowledge of audit techniques, including planning, scoping, project management, evaluation and testing of internal controls
• Knowledge of Corporate areas including Risk Management, Finance, Compliance and AML
• Proficiency with Excel (experience with Pivot Tables and V/X-look ups)

Preferred Skills

• Excellent written and communication skills, with ability to influence and lead meetings
• Pro‑active, dedicated, flexible, demonstrating good practical judgement and taking initiative
• Team player, ability to multi‑task, detail oriented, strong commitment to quality, analytical, strong problem solving and consultative skills
• Knowledge of or exposure to Risk Management, Finance, IFRS and Compliance (Anti‑Money Laundering, Privacy, Market Conduct, ABAC) would be an asset

Salary and Benefits

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
