Responsibilities:

Lead Audit Engagements

Plan and oversee audits from start to finish

Ensure compliance with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS)

Review financial statements under ASPE, IFRS, etc.

Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues.

Be the go-to contact for clients during audits

Offer insights on internal controls, risk, and operations

Spot opportunities to add value beyond the audit.

Supervise and coach audit staff

Conduct performance reviews and support career growth

Lead internal training to build technical capabilities.

Ensure Quality & Compliance

Maintain high standards through effective quality controls

Keep up with changes in audit/accounting standards.

Collaborate with leadership on firm-wide goals

Support business development and proposal efforts

Recommend improvements to tools and audit processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

CPA designation (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of progressive audit experience, preferably in public practice.

Strong technical expertise in Canadian accounting standards (ASPE, IFRS) and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS).

Proven leadership abilities, including team management and mentorship experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused mindset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in audit software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools.

Exposure to personal and corporate tax returns and information returns would be an asset.
