Job description

Senior Audit Associate

Our client, a very reputable accounting firm serving individuals and businesses throughout Barrie and Simcoe County, is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join their growing team of professionals.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 annually (Overtime paid after 35 hours per week).
Benefits: Available after 3 months of employment.
Vacation: 3 weeks annually.

Job Description
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned CPA, responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed, small to mid-sized businesses. This role will involve performing audit, review, and notice-to-reader engagements, as well as handling both personal and corporate tax matters, bookkeeping, and additional accounting services.

Qualifications

  1. University degree or college diploma in Accounting, or a related field.
  2. CPA designation mandatory.
  3. 5+ years of experience in conducting audit, review, and notice-to-reader engagements, as well as handling personal and corporate tax work, bookkeeping, and additional accounting services.
  4. Familiarity with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  5. Understanding of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNFPO).
  6. Knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS).
  7. Prior experience working with owner-managed, small to mid-sized businesses, and not-for-profits.
  8. Strong knowledge of Caseware and TaxPrep.
  9. Experience in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
  10. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, coupled with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities.
  11. Open/flexible to take on junior roles in larger engagements when required.
