Job summary

The National Research Council of Canada is seeking a Senior Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Officer to support the Corporate Secretariat. You will interpret ATIP legislation, advise senior management, and coordinate responses to information requests across government context.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree, a security clearance, and experience in ATIP, with opportunities for a limited hybrid work arrangement and a comprehensive benefits package, relocation assistance may be

Qualifications

• Recent and significant experience interpreting and applying ATIP legislation in a government context.
• Experience providing advice to senior management on ATIP and promoting ATIP policies.
• Experience reviewing and updating ATIP procedures and guidelines.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, partners and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide ATIP services and ensure NRC meets statutory obligations under ATI legislation.
• Coordinate handling of requests; liaise with internal and external parties to ensure timely completion.
• Develop and implement ATIP processes; respond to complaints from the Privacy Commissioner and Information Commissioner.
• Contribute to ATIP projects such as electronic case management enhancements and training.
