Teck is a leading Canadian resource company focused on responsibly providing the metals essential for global development and the energy transition while caring for the people, communities, and land that we love.
Teck's two regional business units, North America and Latin America, oversee Teck's assets through all phases of safe, sustainable development, operation, and closure. The business units are supported by enterprise-wide functions that set strategic direction, establish standards, and provide governance, as well as supporting the business through shared services, centers of excellence, and business partnering.
Assurance & Advisory (A&A) is Teck's internal audit enterprise function, reporting directly to the Audit Committee of Teck's Board of Directors. The Assurance Senior role reports to the A&A Manager. The successful candidate will be an experienced assurance/audit professional, with experience in conducting risk and control audits in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) / NI 52-109 (CSOX), and will hold a CPA designation or equivalent experience in industry. The A&A team's vision is to be trusted and insightful business partners, delivering actionable and timely risk, control, and governance insights to support Teck's strategic objectives of excellence and resilience, enabling desired business outcomes. The team operates as a multidisciplinary pool of resources working in project teams to deliver risk-based assurance engagements, including annual audits of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and quarterly audits of Disclosure Processes & Controls (DC&P). As a valued member, the Assurance Senior will interact with Teck's operations, development projects, and enterprise functions worldwide, working with internal and external customers to execute the annual risk-based internal audit plan and promote positive change through actionable insights. The role will also support initiatives with peers to achieve strategic objectives.
