A day in the life of a Senior Associate

  • Investment accounting
  • Preparation of tax returns (Corporate, personal, trusts and partnerships)
  • Act as a liaison between various internal and external clients
  • Assist in the preparing and updating of accounting records to record complex business and tax transactions
  • Prepare financial statements for all related companies and ensure intercompany transactions and accounts are properly recorded
  • Gain an understanding on alternative investment vehicles and their appropriate accounting and tax implications
  • Help to assemble and prepare reporting packages for strategic planning meetings on a quarterly basis
  • Acquire and apply relevant tax knowledge
  • Assist in general client needs and fulfil client requests
  • Prepare sales tax and payroll source deduction remittances where applicable

Skills and qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax
  • Professional CPA designation (or in the process of obtaining)
  • Experience in an accounting firm and or Family Office, an asset
  • Good knowledge (or interest) in taxation
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and detail oriented
  • Desire to join a dynamic growing team
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of CaseWare, TJPS (Lotus Notes) and Taxprep, an asset
