Job summary

The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Family and Community Wellness Centre is seeking an Associate Executive Director to lead across programs, support directors and ensure continuity when the Executive Director is unavailable. Based in Nelson House, this senior, hands-on role requires respectful leadership, strong judgment and the ability to coordinate priorities with partners and funders.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating complex work across health, child and family services.
• Strong planning, organization, writing and follow-through skills.
• Sound judgement with confidential information, sensitive concerns, risk and urgent situations.
• Ability to build trust and work respectfully with directors, community, partners, funders and government.
• Collaborative leadership grounded in cultural respect, fairness, accountability and community wellness.
• Comfort moving between senior responsibilities and practical administrative work.

Responsibilities

• Keep executive decisions organized with deadlines and reporting.
• Coordinate plans with owners, timelines and shared follow-through.
• Bring directors together to solve issues and respond to urgent community needs.
• Prepare briefs, correspondence and meeting materials; provide calendar and records support.
• Help leaders stay ahead of laws, policies, funding commitments and organizational risks.
• Coordinate complaints, incidents and administrative investigations with care and confidentiality.
• Support directors, coaching, mentorship and succession planning.
• Build respectful relationships with NCN leadership, Citizens, Elders, partners, funders and governments.
• Use delegated signing authority and provide continuity when needed.
