Job summary

Architecture49 is seeking a senior lead in Ottawa to act as the primary technical and production contact for complex projects, including government-funded work. You will guide teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with public-sector regulations within a fully integrated BIM environment.

You will mentor staff, drive BIM standards, and coordinate with clients and consultants to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes across a range of national projects.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience delivering large-scale architectural projects from DD through Construction.
• Experience in BIM execution, coordination, clash detection, and model-based workflows.
• Advanced Revit proficiency with production, coordination, and documentation standards.
• Strong knowledge of building codes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead technical teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation with senior stakeholders.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Minimum educational requirement is Architectural Technologist.
• Eligible for PSPC Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical and production lead; main contact for clients and public-sector stakeholders.
• Lead and oversee complex project requirements; coordinate internal teams and external consultants.
• Provide strategic oversight of project budgets during DD and Production; identify risks and mitigate.
• Establish QA/QC standards and conduct senior reviews at milestones.
• Plan and facilitate client, consultant, and internal meetings; ensure documentation and follow-through.
• Lead preparation and issuance of deliverables including permits, bids, and construction packages.
• Oversee site assessments and field reviews; translate conditions into design solutions.
• Mentor junior staff; promote BIM best practices in production and design coordination.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM standards and workflows.
