Job summary

Architecture49 is seeking a senior architect to lead teams in architectural design, construction drawings, and multi-disciplinary coordination in Northwestern Ontario. The role emphasizes client advisory, cost control, and schedule management across community projects.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Ontario architect with 15+ years in a similar leadership role, strong BIM proficiency (REVIT/AutoCAD), and ability to travel to remote communities. French communication is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered architect in Ontario (OAA).
• 15+ years in a similar leadership role within architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Provincial and National standards and codes.
• Experience with BIM workflows using REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam; visualization software a plus.
• Experience building relationships with Indigenous communities is an asset.
• Experience in K-12 or post-secondary education is an asset.
• Ability to communicate in French would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage teams in producing architectural design solutions and construction drawings.
• Manage a group of architectural staff, lead project meetings, and coordinate all building disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform internal reviews and quality checks of models and drawings for codes compliance.
• Serve as a senior client advisor.
• Provide technical and administrative oversight to meet client needs within cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Manage the financial aspects of projects including planning, scheduling, forecasting and staffing.
• Travel to communities and work sites in the Seaway Corridor.
