Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Engineer to drive performance modeling, evaluation, and post-training of large language models specialized in code generation, software engineering, and agentic coding tasks. You will work at the intersection of model training, inference optimization, and empirical analysis to improve coding model capabilities, efficiency, reliability, and real-world developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in CS/AI with 12+ years of work experience.
• Excellent Python programming and strong understanding of large language models, transformer architectures, training and evaluation of generative models.
• Foundational understanding of reinforcement learning algorithms and their implementation (MDPs, policies, reward design).
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, code generation, automated testing, and program correctness.
• Proven track record leading model development life cycles, including dataset versioning, experiment tracking, and evaluation pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop meticulous frameworks to measure coding model performance across generation, debugging, and multi-step software tasks.
• Develop, optimize post-training pipelines for coding models, including SFT, PPO, RL and reward modeling.
• Analyze benchmark results and training dynamics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Improve model performance on coding tasks through targeted training interventions and error analysis.
• Build scalable, reproducible infrastructure for training experiments and evaluation pipelines.
