Job summary

Dillon Consulting is seeking an experienced Architect to lead and assist with a variety of infrastructure projects. Qualifications

Job description

  • Commitment to provide leadership and contribute to the career development of staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
  • Manage and assist with projects for our government, institutional and industrial clients with a focus on environmental (water and wastewater plants and pump stations), industrial and commercial infrastructure across Canada as well as institutional / residential projects in Canada's far north.
  • Assist in the development of client relationships and business growth.
  • Provide design input, technical direction and instruction to other staff.
  • Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, asset management audits, space needs studies, preliminary and detailed design, contract document preparation and contract administration for a wide variety of projects.
  • Leadership of business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees and periodic participation and presentations at industry / professional conferences.
  • Travel to other business locations and Dillon offices.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed :

  • A degree in Architecture.
  • Must be licensed to practice as an Architect, or eligible to be licensed within six months.
  • Demonstrated commitment to design excellence, team engagement and client satisfaction.
  • Critical thinker with the desire to analyze problems, research best-practices, consider and question multiple points of view, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to the team.
  • Excellent communication skills : written, verbal and graphic.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years related work experience in consulting.
  • Proven experience in creative collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Experience with low embodied carbon projects is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of low embodied carbon building design is highly desirable.
  • Experience in proposal writing is highly desirable.
