Position Summary

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.

Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians and other allied health professionals with special training in cardiac and vascular conditions and their treatment. Each year, our innovative surgery techniques and outstanding cardiology interventions attract hundreds of visiting professors and trainees from around the globe.

Duties
  • Exercise judgment and decision-making in providing complex clerical services, including scheduling tests and procedures for referred patients prior to their review by the “Heart Team”.
  • Utilize Epic and imaging scheduling systems for the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, Cath Lab, and OR.
  • Provide clerical, scheduling, and reception support for the TAVI and Structural Heart disease program.
  • Process, document, and maintain scheduled imaging studies and tests electronically or manually.
  • Complete data entry for CorHealth monthly reports.
  • Provide preparation information and imaging appointment details to patients.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
  • Diploma in medical office administration or equivalent (asset).
  • Five years of related office/clinical administration support experience.
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare administrative setting.
  • Cardiology background (asset).
  • Proficiency with computer/word processing and database software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Epic and Syngo (asset).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, under pressure, and handle confidential matters.
