Job Description

Reporting directly to the Manager, Application Engineering EMEA, you will coach and support application engineers and review their design work. Your expertise in mechanical design, automation, and robotics will enhance your team’s technical skills and help identify training opportunities.

You will participate in pre-sale scope validation activities, collaborating with sales, application engineers, development teams, operations, and customer success to ensure successful automation projects.

You will maintain strong relationships with Sales, Product Line Management, and Application Development teams to provide field feedback, help prioritize the Roadmap, and contribute to the Go To Market strategy.

The Role

  • Mentor Application Engineers and develop their technical skills
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and technical post-mortems
  • Qualify projects and support sales with feasibility checks
  • Review machine design, automation system diagrams, and logic workflows
  • Participate in the design of key projects
  • Support sales with client meetings
  • Collaborate on training sessions for engineers
  • Establish references, standards, and best practices
  • Support machine deployment and after-sales activities
  • Travel to client sites (up to 2x per quarter)
  • Contribute to product roadmap and application development based on team needs
  • Participate in project scoping with relevant teams

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in OEM or System Integrator roles, with broad automation application experience (EOAT, Conveyors, Packaging, Welding, etc.)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in German and English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Experience in mentorship and team support
  • Solution-oriented, proactive attitude
  • Strong desire to share knowledge and support colleagues
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in fast-paced environments
