Position Summary

The Senior Application Analyst - Epic Beacon/Ambulatory is an integral member of the Digital Software Services (DSS) team. This position supports applications for UHN, including clinical and business systems. Responsibilities include support activities, system and business analysis, upgrades, and testing. The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to contribute to the organization's success.

Duties
  • Provide technical support for IT applications
  • Maintain strong knowledge of supported applications
  • Offer day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in collaboration with customers, Epic, and other vendors
  • Perform testing of new releases, upgrades, and fixes
  • Participate in planning for application upgrades with users and vendors
  • Engage in end-user meetings and facilitate communication
  • Contribute to digital projects such as Epic optimization and new application implementations
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users
  • Stay updated with application information and literature
  • Identify training needs to enhance support
  • Collaborate with digital teams to maintain high service levels
  • Document issues and resolutions
  • Participate in team meetings and on-call support
  • Perform cross-functional duties as assigned
  • Adhere to hospital values and policies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, health informatics, or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of Epic Ambulatory Workflow
  • Preferred certifications in Epic applications such as Beacon and Orders
  • Proficiency with tools like Visio, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, SharePoint
  • Knowledge of IT concepts: networks, storage, OS, data retrieval, applications, firewalls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with clinical systems and healthcare environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Interest in learning new technologies
