Job summary

Source Code is seeking a Sr. Software Developer - API to design, implement, and maintain high-quality REST APIs and microservices in Java/Spring Boot. You will work on secure, scalable systems deployed on Azure, with emphasis on API documentation, testing, and robust integration patterns.

The role requires hands-on experience with Spring Integration, asynchronous messaging, and strong SQL capabilities, plus developer mentoring and on-call readiness. On-site in Toronto for the project duration.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience building integration solutions using Spring Integration.
• Knowledge of microservice architecture and scalable, highly available systems on Azure.
• Hands-on experience with messaging queues and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with asynchronous communication and multi-threading.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and SAML.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server or Oracle.
• Data transformation using mapping and normalization in Spring Integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate systems.
• Develop and deploy modular microservices with clear inter-service communication.
• Implement security with OAuth2/JWT and input validation.
• Create documentation for designs, deployment, and operations.
• Provide code reviews, mentoring, and status updates.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and throughput.
• Collaborate with on-call teams for production issues.
