Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior API Software Developer to design, build, and document robust REST APIs. You will develop microservices in Java/Spring Boot, leveraging Azure services and Spring Integration for scalable integration patterns.

The role requires strong SQL expertise, secure authentication (OAuth2/JWT/SAML), and hands-on experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes). Onsite in Toronto, 7.25-hour days, M‑F, with potential on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building, and testing REST APIs with Spring Integration.
• In-depth knowledge of microservice architecture on Azure, with messaging and event-driven patterns.
• Strong SQL skills with SQL Server or Oracle.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, SAML authentication/authorization technologies.
• Ability to transform data between JSON, XML, and CSV in Spring Integration context.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test RESTful APIs and endpoints with clear request/response models and error handling.
• Develop modular microservices, with Docker/Kubernetes deployment and inter-service communication.
• Implement monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) for operational visibility.
• Produce documentation for designs, deployment instructions, and operational guides.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews and sprint planning.
