About the team and the role:

Join eBay’s Shipping Tech Team and help power global commerce for sellers! Our Shipping team is integral to the Selling organization, delivering innovative solutions that cater to the diverse shipping needs of sellers worldwide. We focus on domestic and international logistics, actively driving the future of shipping with tailored experiences. This role specifically involves developing shipping functionality within the seller journey, primarily concentrating on the listing/draft phase. You'll use a modern Android technology stack to create high-performance solutions that improve seller experiences and foster collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.

What you will accomplish:

  • Develop and enhance Android applications that improve the seller experience on eBay, leveraging Kotlin and modern Android technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to identify innovative features and interface improvements.
  • Drive high-quality standards in code and project execution, contributing to the team's overall technical perfection.
  • Engage in cross-functional team collaborations across eBay to build integrated and scalable solutions.
  • Play a role in mentoring peers and setting new benchmarks for software quality and development practices.
  • Participate actively in team decisions regarding system design and architecture, navigating project ambiguities.

What you will bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in Android development with extensive experience in Kotlin, Android Studio, Dagger, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong understanding of mobile application design and UX patterns, particularly for Android.
  • Experience in working with revision control systems (e.g., Git) and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Ability to build and maintain commercial-quality Android applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration across dispersed teams.
  • At least 6 years of software development experience, with substantial exposure to Agile practices and delivery methods.
