Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking an Android Senior Developer for the OTT team to drive front-end mobile experiences across CBC Gem, ICI TOU.TV, and related platforms. The role combines hybrid work with in-office collaboration, contributing to design, implementation, and performance improvements across multi-form-factor mobile applications.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in mobile development, Kotlin/Android Studio expertise, and experience shipping apps to Google Play.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in developing complex and high-performance mobile applications.
• Proficiency in Android Studio, Git, and the Kotlin language.
• Experience in developing an application published on Google Play.
• Experience in developing within code review context (pull request).
• Knowledge of MVP or MVVM patterns.
• Ability to read and adhere to UML/sequences diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design and/or modify reusable components for CBC/Radio-Canada's digital platforms; such as the audio/video player.
• Ensure compliance with standards and control the quality of the product throughout the project's execution.
• Stay informed of new trends in digital development.
• Proactively propose solutions to encountered challenges.
• Participate in Agile Scrum activities to review ongoing projects and measure results.
• Contribute to user stories for various products.
• Ensure good performance of applications to handle high loads.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and deployments.
• Participate in code reviews and solution deployments.
