Job Description

The Senior Analytical Chemist Level I reports to the Director, Analytical Services, and is responsible for performing analytical development work in cGMP or non-GMP settings. Responsibilities include method development, validation, forced degradation studies, stability testing, and R&D support, along with preparing protocols and reports. Candidates should be proficient with HPLC/UPLC, GC, IC, KF, wet chemistry techniques, and ideally with LCMS and/or GCMS. The role involves independent planning and execution of investigations and active participation in interdepartmental research teams.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and execute analytical method development for raw materials, in-process controls, intermediates, and APIs, ensuring support for specified limits.
• Conduct investigational work and generate regulatory reports.
• Research and implement new technologies and methodologies.
• Prepare method development updates and analytical test methods for cGMP use.
• Perform process development sample analyses and peer reviews.
• Develop and validate protocols, including stability and forced degradation studies, and prepare reports.
• Support write-up of OOS, OOT, OOC, and deviation documents for regulatory review.
• Maintain a well-organized laboratory environment and adhere to GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a B.Sc. with 5-10 years of pharmaceutical experience or an MSc/PhD with over 5 years of related experience.
• Have experience in pharmaceutical analysis, development, and validation.
• Possess excellent technical writing and GMP documentation skills.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Assist in project planning and staff training.

Additional:

• Perform instrument calibration and performance verifications.
• Order laboratory supplies and chemicals as needed.
