As Senior Analyst, you’ll help the Strategic Finance team get deals done and add value to their customers by applying a sustainability lens – identifying both opportunities and risks – and building the capacity of peers and leaders to do the same.

What you’ll do:

  • Assess each deal’s alignment with FCC’s strategy and ability to drive impact in Canada’s agriculture and food industry
  • Effectively balance rigour and efficiency to draft submissions for account reviews, compliance monitoring and eligibility rulings that support holistic decision-making
  • Take on a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities during the transaction origination, analysis, execution and asset management stages and act a liaison between Credit and other internal teams
  • Play a key role in the evolution and continuous improvement of FCC’s policies, practices and processes for Strategic Finance as well as ESG integration across the institution
  • Provide feedback on second-line risk management

What we’re looking for:

  • Good commercial judgment and critical thinking skills that support a solutions-oriented, value-add approach to ESG
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail combined with the ability to draw actionable conclusions and make pragmatic recommendations for decision-makers
  • Strong writing, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • Effective communicator and relationship-builder able to work with internal partners and external resources, often through challenging negotiations
  • Customer-focused problem-solver who can identify and recommend lending opportunities and successfully lead cross-functional projects

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least six years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • A graduate degree and/or relevant certifications (SASB, CFA, CBV, CFA ESG, GARP SCR, etc.) are an asset
  • Experience integrating consideration of non-credit risk factors and sustainability related opportunities into lending processes, customer interactions and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of FCC’s portfolio sectors
  • Aptitude for complex lending and advanced credit and risk-mitigation analysis
  • Experience with credit or financial analysis to support standard commercial/business due diligence tasks is an asset
