The Team

Scotiabank’s Cyber Security Operations (CSOps) team is responsible for protecting the Bank and responding to cyber threats and events. The Cyber Automation & Defense group within CSOps is responsible for assessing, implementing, and administering enterprise security controls to safeguard Scotiabank’s informational assets and reduce security risk posture.

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Security Content Support, the Senior Analyst will work as part of Cyber Automation & Defense (CAD) team and will be responsible for supporting all teams within CSOps with workstream tracking, documentation, reporting, and other daily activities. The Senior Analyst will be required to work with other technology and security teams to develop security content and processes related to their activities.

Is this role right for you?In this role you will :

  • Content Support Implementation: Implement and collaborate on content tailored to cyber security solutions by identifying gaps in process documentation, reporting and procedures; aligned with organizational objectives and industry trends.
  • Initiative Support: Assist with ongoing initiatives related to cyber automation and defense, provide support to project teams and other stakeholders in tracking activities and enabling colleagues to reach project and initiative milestones and objectives.
  • Executive Communications: Produce content geared toward executive-level management, effectively communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manor, demonstrating expertise and credibility.
  • Meeting Moderation: Lead/moderate meetings with all levels of management and technical subject matter experts on technical subjects, fostering productive discussions and ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and informed.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply your expertise in Office 365 technologies and Microsoft PowerBI to enhance the effectiveness of our cybersecurity solutions in line with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Jira Service management: Create Jira projects, issues and workflows to support teams throughout CSOps while tracking and reporting metrics.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work together with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring seamless communications between different departments.
  • Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies and processes, ask questions, and self-start in acquiring new skills and knowledge to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?We'd love to work with you if you have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Data Analysis, Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience in technology content development pertaining to technology or cybersecurity
  • Expertise in Office 365 and PowerBI, with the ability to leverage these tools to innovate new solutions.
  • Expertise in Jira Service Management an asset.
  • Experience leading meetings with executive level management and moderating technical discussions
  • Familiarity with industry standard cybersecurity technologies and best practices an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language proficiency is an asset.
  • Self-driven, proactive and adaptable, with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on emerging cybersecurity trends.
