Job summary

Fairstone Bank, a leading Canadian financial services group, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Relations. You will coordinate regulatory engagements with OSFI, draft submissions, track findings, and coordinate inputs from Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology and Legal to ensure timely, well-documented regulatory interactions.

Join a team embedded in the Enterprise Risk Management function with exposure to exams, remediation tracking, and governance reporting.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of experience in enterprise risk management, regulatory affairs, compliance, or regulator support roles.
  • Experience within an OSFI-regulated financial institution or with federal regulators.
  • Ability to manage multiple regulatory deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Experience with GRC Platforms (Resolver, ServiceNow).
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to support workflows.
  • Exposure to regulatory exams, internal audits, or remediation tracking.
  • Strong facilitation, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communications and organizational awareness.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and deliver high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

About the role:

The Senior Analyst, Regulatory Relations supports effective coordination, analysis, and execution of the Bank’s regulatory engagements, with a focus on supporting engagements with the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI). The role focuses on preparing regulatory materials, coordinating responses, tracking supervisory commitments, and supporting internal governance to ensure timely, accurate, and well‑controlled regulatory interactions.

This position plays a key role in maintaining discipline, supervisory readiness, and auditability across regulator‑related activities. The role supports consistency with our regulator engagements, ensuring high quality and structured interactions with our regulators.

A key member of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, this position may also support adhoc reporting duties, risk assessments and provide ERM workflow support as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Correspondence & Coordination Support
  • Support the coordination of regulatory communications, including data requests, supervisory letters, information packages, and follow‑up responses.
  • Drafting regulatory correspondence and coordinating reviews by key stakeholders and senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of regulator interactions, submissions, and supervisory communications.
  • Support & facilitate regulatory reviews, meetings and collection of evidence and feedback.
Supervisory Findings & Action Plan Tracking
  • Track supervisory findings, recommendations, and commitments in centralized logs or issue‑tracking tools.
  • Monitor remediation milestones, evidence submission timelines, and dependencies across business and control functions.
  • Escalate risks of slippage or gaps in evidence to Risk and senior management.
Analysis & Regulatory Content Preparation
  • Support the preparation of OSFI‑related materials, including:
  • Review internal documentation for consistency with OSFI expectations and prior submissions.
Internal Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Internal Audit to gather inputs for OSFI requests.
  • Ensure internal contributions are aligned, complete, internally consistent, and delivered within required timelines.
  • Support internal readiness activities for OSFI exams, thematic reviews, and supervisory assessments.
Regulatory Intelligence & Awareness
  • Monitor regulatory guidance, advisories, and supervisory communications for relevance to the Bank. (e.g. new guidelines, consultations, data calls)
  • Assist in summarizing emerging regulatory themes for internal distribution.
Governance & Reporting Support
  • Assist in preparing management and Committee reporting related to regulatory engagements, supervisory issues, and remediation status.
  • Support documentation of supervisory outcomes for Senior Management, Board and Committee awareness, as required.
  • Maintain records of regulatory activity
  • Support engagements with other regulatory bodies as required
  • Adhoc Enterprise Risk Management workflow and reporting support as required
What we’re looking for:
  • 4–7 years of experience in enterprise risk management, regulatory affairs, compliance, or regulator support roles.
  • Experience working within an OSFI‑regulated financial institution or working directly with federal financial regulators
  • Undergraduate degree is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple regulatory deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Sharepoint, Teams…etc)
  • Experience with GRC Platforms (ie. Resolver, ServiceNow), designing workflows
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to support and enhance workflows

What you can expect - pay & process:
  • Expected base salary range is $77,000 - $90,000 per year, plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
