Job summary
Fairstone Bank is seeking a Senior Analyst, Performance Management to join our Finance team in Canada. You will support efficiency ratio performance and budgeting across the Direct Lending business, partnering with leaders to forecast Opex and Capex.
The role focuses on building KPI reports, enhancing analytical tools, and driving data-driven insights to improve profitability and inform strategic decisions. A hybrid work model and strong growth opportunities await.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting.
- 1-3+ years Financial Services industry experience.
- Finance / Accounting designation (CPA/CMA, MBA, CFA), preferred.
- Strong financial modelling capabilities with forecasts and projections.
- Coordinating rigorous forecasting and planning cycles and outputs.
- Experience with FI including OSFI reporting and capital requirements.
- Experience with Credit Cards, Personal Lending and Mortgages is a plus.
- Experience with PowerBI and FP&A systems (Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, OneStream).
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly collaborative, hands-on approach; solution-oriented partner.
Responsibilities
- Support efficiency ratio performance and budgeting for Direct Lending.
- Partner with business teams and management on forecasts of Opex and Capex.
- Build processes to monitor and track the bank’s efficiency ratio.
- Lead department reviews on Operating Expenses.
- Create and enhance KPI reporting and analytics tools.
- Support Development of meeting agendas for the Performance and Efficiency Forum.
- Identify, evaluate and track operating efficiency initiatives.
- Provide data-driven insights to identify risks and recommendations.
- Assist with business cases and investment analyses; post-implementation reviews.
- Support Workday ERP implementation and optimization of planning tools.
- Develop dashboards, models and data platforms for management insights.

The Senior Analyst, Performance Management will support overall efficiency ratio performance and management for the Direct Lending Business. This position will have experience working in a multi-business unit organization to support the budget management and recommendations for cost savings across business units.
- Lead as a business partner to business teams and management in forecasting Operational Expenses and Capital Expenditures through the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts.
- Build processes to monitor and track the bank’s efficiency ratio performance.
- Lead functional department reviews with business leaders on Operating Expenses.
- Create and enhance the existing KPI reporting and analytical tools to increase efficiency and uncover more insight into business operations.
- Support developing meeting agendas and discussion topics for the Performance and Efficiency Forum with the aim to ensure profitable growth for the Bank.
- Support the business in identifying, evaluating and tracking operating efficiency initiatives.
- Champion a strong data-driven environment, providing fact-based strategic insight to business partners to identify risks and recommendations to improve future business performance.
- Business Growth - Support the development of business cases and investment analyses, initiative tracking, and post implementation reviews.
- Finance Transformation - Play a key role in enabling the capabilities of a newly launched cloud-based implementation of Workday ERP and optimization of financial planning tools.
- Data Driven Organization - Be an advocate to adoption use of data to simplify decision making and presentation of complex information. Lead the development of management dashboards, business models and data platforms.
- 3+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting
- 1-3+ years Financial Services industry experience
- Finance / Accounting designation (CPA/CMA, MBA, CFA), preferred
- Strong financial modelling capabilities with experience creating robust financial plans, forecasts, and projections
- Previous experience coordinating rigorous forecasting and planning cycles and corresponding outputs
- Relevant FI experience including management and OSFI regulatory reporting, understanding of capital requirements
- Previous experience with Credit Cards, Personal Lending and Mortgages would be an asset
- Strong business and process acumen, with ability to analyze strategic requirements, create innovative solutions, and develop action plans
- Experience in developing financial models and dashboards within PowerBI and FP&A Systems (Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, OneStream) would be an asset
