Job Purpose

As a Senior Analyst, Product Development, you must possess a unique blend of business knowledge as well as a technical background combined with agile software development experience. You must have the ability to analyze a customer’s needs and translate them into requirements via stories. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work closely with the Project Manager/Scrum Master to define product and product release requirements within an agile framework. A Senior Analyst, Product Development’s key role is both to guide the software development requirements and the product itself.

Responsibilities

• Drive product requirements and business analysis
• Read through detailed business and regulatory documentation and build stories (requirements)
• Maintain/prioritize product backlog
• Understand and have ability to present stories (requirements) to technical teams
• Be available to answer business-related questions from the technical team as they work through the sprint
• Ability to participate in the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Ability to reverse engineer complex undocumented algorithms and turn them into requirements
• Assess bug reports and change requests from business stakeholders to determine validity and criticality
• Negotiate with business and technical team on scope and timing for change requests
• Analyze potential projects and work with Technical Team leads and Project Manager to determine cost estimates that will be communicated to a Business Sponsor
• Participate in prioritizing competing projects/resources

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a major in computer science, engineering, finance, or mathematics; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have business analysis experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Agile software development experience would be an asset
• Certified SCRUM Product Owner would be an asset
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated
