We are recruiting a Senior Analyst, Private Funds Operations, reporting to the Manager, Private Funds Operations. The role involves providing transactional and accounting support for private equity investments. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers, solutions-oriented, comfortable with high volume and complex transactions, and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Trade Life Cycle Expertise
  • Review trade tickets and accounting entries for accuracy, ensuring figures match transacted amounts and support from General Partners
  • Review supporting documentation and authorizations for new deal closings
  • Act as reviewer for periodic processes (daily, monthly, quarterly)
  • Identify issues, assist in corrective actions, and escalate irregular activities
  • Collaborate with Investment Departments, Structuring, Tax, and Treasury to resolve operational issues
  • Liaise with investment partners, industry peers, audit, and service providers
  • Prepare quarterly valuations and record adjustments accurately
Investment Accounting & Reporting
  • Complete and ensure accuracy of reports and reconciliations related to portfolio holdings, P&L, and performance returns
  • Prepare or review quarterly financial reports, disclosures, and management reports
Process Improvement
  • Update process documentation
  • Develop and enhance controls and monitoring procedures
  • Lead or assist in projects aligned with our CPPIB 2025 vision
  • Prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Contribute to team culture and provide leadership to Analysts
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • Professional designations like CPA, CFA, CBV are assets
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, consulting, private equity, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of private equity funds
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and management accounting skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and learning new systems
  • Desire to learn and contribute to innovative solutions
