What is the opportunity?

Provides coverage for multiple desks within the Toronto Stock Loan & Central Funding Group. Assists with the settlement and/or processing all transactions assigned on a daily basis, in a timely and accurate manner.

What will you do?

• Work constructively in a team environment
• Aid in managing volumes and organizing workflow
• Remain up to date on a number of desks and accounts so as to be able to back fill throughout the year
• Train new hires and Analysts on desks to assist with coverage
• Possess good knowledge of the products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities
• Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, standards and guidelines instructions and ensures processes and controls are in place to minimize operations risk
• On an ongoing basis will assist Senior Securities Settlements Leaders with any ad hoc requirements / tasks
• MTM open contracts with RBC counterparties.
• Review and adjust Contract Compare reports with RBC counterparties.
• Issue recall letters on instructions from S/L Sales desk.
• Input recall letters sent by RBC counterparties into Loanet.
• Balance daily DTC activity to Loanet entries daily.
• Balance Loanet to Broadridge on the following business day.
• Clear and balance non-cash borrow and loan activity.
• Interface with Securities Lending Sales desk.
• Adjust outstanding contracts for dividend and reorg activity.
• Settle JPM/BoNY Tri-party activity

What you need to succeed?

• 2-4 years of previous experience with back office Operations and interaction with traders preferred
• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Post-secondary degree, preferable in a business related field
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a time-sensitive environment
• Knowledge of trade settlements and/or the trade lifecycle.
• Experience with ADP/Broadridge, CDS related functions an asset
• Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
• Analytical thinking
