Department Overview
Collateral Risk Management sits within Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) which is responsible for the market and credit risk of TD Securities. A global, multi-faceted and cross product team, the primary objective of the Collateral Management department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients' derivative and securities financing portfolios. The department manages collateral for the Toronto, New York, London and Singapore regions.
The team has a rare opportunity to support products and businesses ranging from foreign exchange, commodities, credit, equity, interest rates, securities financing, and prime brokerage. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills and competencies around derivative and security products and their respective business areas, legal agreements, technology flows and regulations.
The Margin Accounts Group (MAG) Senior Analyst is responsible for the effective mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the management of collateral exposures across OTC derivatives. The role combines daily risk oversight, collateral management expertise, stakeholder engagement, process governance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure risks are appropriately identified, measured, controlled, and escalated.
The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert within Collateral Risk Management, providing independent analysis, challenge, and guidance to business partners while maintaining strong relationships with Front Office, Credit Risk, Legal, Treasury, Settlements, Operations, Technology, and external counterparties.
Serve as a key point of contact for counterparties and internal business partners regarding collateral, disputes, risk exposures, and operational processes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Front Office, Credit Risk Management, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Technology, and external clients.
Provide meaningful risk commentary, recommendations, and insights that support informed decision-making and strengthen risk management effectiveness.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce operational risk, and enhance controls through automation, process redesign, and technology enhancements.
Participate as a subject matter expert in strategic projects, regulatory implementations, technology upgrades, and cross-functional initiatives.
Support infrastructure modernization and process optimization efforts impacting collateral management and counterparty risk functions.
Provide guidance, mentorship, training, and knowledge transfer to analysts across the team.
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture focused on risk awareness, accountability, and continuous learning.
Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor within MAG and the broader Counterparty Risk function.
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Commerce, Risk Management, or a related quantitative discipline.
CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
