Job summary

The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is seeking a Senior Analyst, Compliance Monitoring - Load Settlement to join a collaborative team responsible for monitoring and analyzing market participant compliance with AUC Rule 021. You will develop monitoring tools, work with AESO teams and regulators to support data governance and market integrity.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of Alberta electricity experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and proficiency in SQL and Python to deliver robust

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant Alberta electricity industry experience.
• Knowledge of Alberta's electricity market, regulatory framework, market rules and AUC Rule 021 is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market participant compliance with AUC Rule 021 using established models and reports.
• Prepare compliance monitoring reports, findings and supporting documentation.
• Conduct ad hoc research and analysis in response to compliance requests.
• Develop and refine Compliance Monitoring Programs and awareness activities.
• Develop, maintain and enhance SQL queries, reports and Python-based tools.
• Provide recommendations to improve monitoring tools, systems and processes.
• Lead or support assigned projects and initiatives.
• Provide coverage for team members and the Manager in discussions as required.
