PSP Investments is seeking a Senior Analyst in Investment Finance to support financial and management reporting. ABOUT THE TEAMWe are seeking a Senior Analyst, Investment Finance, Analytics Support who will be conducting various activities regarding our day-to-day operational support to the production of the financial and management reporting for Investment Finance teams. The incumber will be called upon to gather and validate user needs, execute financial analyses and recommend the most optimal solution to our internal stakeholders.
ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs a Senior Analyst reporting to the Director, Investment Finance, Analytics Support, you will:
Reporting
Participate in developing and maintaining finance data models, reporting solutions, and dashboards to support key business decisions and ensure data quality for Investment Finance teams
Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to refine scope and translate business needs into clear data/reporting requirements
Recommend and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity of Finance reporting (at the system, data, operation and procedural levels)
Validate report outputs and reconcile with source systems (GL, data warehouse, investment systems)
Create documentation for new processes, reports, and business data definitions
Business Operations
Actively participate in the daily run and month-end process to support the production of the management reports and Power BI dashboards
Engage fully in the end-to-end delivery cycle of the solutions to ensure optimal coordination and effective execution (i.e. collecting business needs, performing business analysis, providing guidance/orientations to the technical delivery teams, testing the solution and providing training)
Coordinate collaboration between IT teams and Finance to integrate new technologies and systems to improve financial reporting and analysis processes
Prepare adequate documentation on procedures, methodologies, processes and controls for operational support
Formulate recommendations to optimize operations efficiency and data quality
Troubleshoot and validate quality control, ensuring that reports are produced promptly and without error
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, accounting or equivalent
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a large organization, preferably in the financial industry and/or in asset management
Experience in using financial data from investments and financial reports
Experience with Power BI or other visualization tool, an asset
Knowledge of any programming language (SQL, Python, etc.), an asset
Good understanding of operations related to Private Market investments, an asset
CPA or CFA designation, an asset
Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
