Job description

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Senior Analyst, Corporate Portfolio Management Office (CPMO), contributes to the administration, governance, and continuous improvement of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) processes. Acting as a trusted advisor and business partner, this position provides guidance and financial expertise throughout the EPPM process.

Position Details
  • Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities
  • Establish partnerships with leaders to develop a thorough understanding of projects planned to execute on the corporate objectives.

  • Through a business partner approach, proactively identify and understand the business needs and challenges, to provide guidance, expertise and direction on adherence to the EPPM process.

  • Maintain a strong focus on improving the EPPM process through continuous improvement, focused on impact on employees, key performance indicators and management reporting.

  • Provide guidance to departments in the Corporation in preparation and ongoing monitoring of the project board approved budgets as well as assisting with preparation of the project site within Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) and Oracle Primavera Unifier (Unifier).

  • Provide advisory services on demand management (intake for EPPM), project ideas and templates.

  • Administer the change control process, including updates in the system per change and/or bulk load.

  • Review change requests in the queue – determine where they go to complete workflow based on governance (i.e. Sponsor can approve or needs approval by Committee).

  • Prepare complex financial analysis and calculations, supporting accounting valuations and the development of business cases.

  • Develop, monitor and maintain complex data models for compliance with capital budgeting, business policies and procedures for in-year and multi-year analysis.

  • Analyze systems and processes and implement changes to improve the integrity, reliability and usefulness of information from OPC, Unifier, and Oracle Fusion.

  • Coordinate with internal departments for management reporting and with external parties for mandatory reporting, inquiries and confirmations related to financial and other management reporting requirements including corporate efficiencies and project benefit realization.

  • Co-ordinate and prepare agenda items for the Investment Governance Committee meetings.

  • Prepare financial reporting for the project portfolio, subsidiaries, and governance categories for internal and external reporting.

  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.

  • Train new and existing users on system functionality, enhancements, and process changes.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Degree in Business Administration or Commerce.

  • Four (4) years of accounting and financial experience.

  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation preferred.

  • Ability to impact and influence employee engagement while building and maintaining effective relationships.

  • Results oriented and strategic thinker with the ability to negotiate and manage complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism.

  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
