This job posting is for an existing vacancy. We’re looking for our next Senior Analyst, Compliance Data & Automation. Could It Be You? The Enterprise Compliance team ensures that Questrade and its affiliates operate within the rules and regulations prescribed by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) and other provincial and territorial securities commissions, regulators and legislators. Enterprise Compliance is in charge of various compliance programs including the investigation of escalated client complaints and reporting to regulators. The team is modernizing how these programs are delivered through data, automation, and AI, and this role sits at the centre of that effort.

The Senior Analyst, Compliance Data & Automation designs, builds, and maintains the scripts, workflows, automations, and AI-enabled tools that make the Enterprise Compliance team’s work faster, more consistent, and more scalable. Working side by side with other team members who investigate escalated client complaints, the Senior Analyst identifies repetitive, manual, and data-heavy tasks and builds solutions that automate or accelerate them, always within the company’s privacy, legal, information security, and compliance requirements. No prior compliance experience is required: regulatory and product knowledge will be developed on the job with the support of an experienced team. This role is well suited to someone who brings a strong technical toolkit, genuine curiosity about AI, and the motivation, autonomy, and drive to make a visible difference in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Automation and AI development: Identifying repetitive, manual, or data-intensive tasks across the complaints-handling lifecycle and other compliance programs, and translate them into concrete automation opportunities. Designing, building, testing, and maintaining scripts, workflows, and automations using Python, SQL, N8N, Google Apps Script, and similar tools. Building solutions that accelerate investigations, such as tools that extract, structure, and summarize information from call recordings, email extracts, account statements, and trading records. Evaluating, prototyping, and deploying AI capabilities (LLMs, AI agents, bots) for tasks such as transcription and summarization, complaint triage, and drafting support, with appropriate human oversight and controls. Documenting what you build and train team members on, so that tools remain usable, maintainable, and auditable over time.
  • Data access and governance: Partnering with database and system owners across the organization to define secure, approved ways of accessing the data required for compliance work. Ensuring every solution abides by the company’s protocols, including privacy, legal, information security, records management, and compliance requirements. Writing and maintaining SQL queries to extract, filter, and analyze data from internal databases in support of investigations, reviews, and reporting.
  • Analytics, reporting, and team contributions: Building and maintaining dashboards and reporting on complaint volumes, timelines, and emerging trends for the Manager and Director, Enterprise Compliance, and for materials prepared for Senior Management and Compliance Committees. Identifying and escalating patterns surfaced through data, including shifts in complaint volume and nature driven by clients’ use of AI. Supporting compliance audits and testing with data extraction and analysis.
  • Compliance knowledge (developed on the job): Building working knowledge of the complaints-handling process and of the regulatory requirements applicable to QFG’s entities (Questrade Inc., QWM, Questbank, Flexiti, and Zolo) through training and day‑by‑day exposure. Shadowing Compliance Officers on live investigations so that the tools you build reflect how the work is actually done. Taking ownership of projects from idea through delivery, managing your own backlog with a high degree of autonomy. Proactively proposing new ideas and improvements rather than waiting to be asked. Communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues. Adapting quickly as priorities, tools, and regulatory expectations evolve. Engaging openly with coaching and feedback, and offering it constructively to peers.

So are YOU our next Senior Analyst, Compliance Data & Automation? You are if you…

  • Hold a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Have practical, hands‑on experience that demonstrates the technical skills above, whether gained through professional roles, internships, co‑op terms, or substantial personal or academic projects
  • Are proficient in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation
  • Are able to write and execute SQL queries to extract, filter, and analyze data from databases
  • Have hands‑on experience building workflows and automations with tools such as N8N, Google Apps Script, Zapier, Make, or similar
  • Possess strong spreadsheet skills, including complex formulas in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Demonstrated interest in AI – large language models, AI agents, prompt design – and in applying it to practical business problems
  • Have solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, ability to break down a messy manual process, find the bottleneck, and design a workable solution
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and are able to scope, plan, and deliver technical work with limited technical supervision
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Work with integrity and discretion, handling sensitive client and company information
  • Possess strong motivation and drive, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment

Additional kudos if you…

  • Are Bilingual, with written and verbal fluency in English and French
  • Have experience with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio)
  • Have experience working with APIs, webhooks, or cloud platforms
  • Have hands‑on experience with LLM APIs or building AI agents
  • Have exposure to, or interest in, financial services, banking and investment products, or other regulated environments
  • Hold relevant technical certifications (e.g., Python, SQL, data analysis, cloud, or business analysis certifications)
  • Are willing to complete industry courses over time (e.g., Canadian Securities Course)

Compensation Information: Base salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada).
