The Role

The Senior Analyst, CFG, supports the Director, Regional Director, and Vice President & Managing Director, Origination by analyzing commercial mortgage loan requests across all mortgage types. You will assist in achieving departmental volume targets and support the origination process within designated markets and regions. Knowledge of Equitable Bank’s mortgage products, underwriting standards, risk management, and compliance is essential to ensure all files meet regulatory and industry standards.

You will maintain and update the commercial mortgage pipeline from initial acknowledgment to funding, acting as a liaison among underwriting, funding, and compliance teams. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, networking with partners, clients, brokers, and internal teams within the Commercial Lending group.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Analytical Support (40%): Analyze mortgage requests daily to assess suitability based on lending guidelines, ensuring compliance and proper documentation review.
  • Process Support (30%): Assist in transaction processing to meet deadlines, working with Credit and Funding teams to satisfy all lending criteria.
  • Origination Support (20%): Support regional directors and VPs in meetings, presentations, and industry events to understand loan requests and client needs.
  • Workflow (5%): Manage your workflow efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Reporting (5%): Prepare and update pipeline reports regularly.

About You

  • Post-secondary education in business or finance; specialization in Real Estate is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of commercial mortgage underwriting experience.
  • Experience with construction lending and knowledge of real estate underwriting, financial analysis, and market factors.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and legal documentation across Canada.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; professional designations like E.A. or AACI are advantageous.
