THE OPPORTUNITY
In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of BCI’s Cash Management team. Your work will focus on preparing daily cash reports, monitoring liquidity, and helping ensure that cash movements are timely and accurate. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, contribute to process improvements, and assist with reporting and data-related tasks. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHTheInvestment Operationsdepartment at BCI plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day execution of investment activities by managing a range of essential operational functions. The department is organized into four branches: Derivatives, Collateral & Engineering; Trade Management; Cash Operations; and Business Solutions. Together, these teams oversee trade settlements, corporate actions, derivatives processing, collateral management, foreign exchange, and cash services. Investment Operations also works closely with internal teams to coordinate end-to-end processes and manages the relationship with BCI’s custodian.
Within the Cash Operations branch, theCash Managementteam is responsible for overseeing cash balances across clients and asset classes. The team ensures funding needs are met, transaction costs are minimized, and netting opportunities are used effectively to support daily operations and investment strategies.
WHAT YOU BRINGWe’re looking for someone who brings a mix of experience, curiosity, and a practical mindset to the table.
3+ years of progressive experience in treasury, cash management, or a related function—ideally within an investment or asset management environment
Post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A combination of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered
Knowledge of cash flow reconciliation, forecasting, and bank and custody account administration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve cash-related inquiries
Proven ability to collaborate and build cross-functional relationships with internal and external partners
Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Advanced Excel skills, including macro development and strong data analysis capabilities
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet both internal and external deadlines
Experience with Bloomberg AIM, R, R Studio, Python, VBA, or SQL
A professional designation such as CFA, CPA, CA, MBA, CAIA, or another relevant credential
This role supports the day-to-day execution of cash operations, reporting, and process improvements to help ensure effective liquidity management across BCI portfolios.
Prepare daily cash position reports to support cash flow execution and ensure clients maintain adequate liquidity
Analyze daily client payment activity and provide recommendations on cash movements
Monitor cash balances across client and public market portfolios, ensuring investments align with established guidelines
Perform custody and bank account reporting; resolve cash-related inquiries from internal teams
Collaborate with asset classes to identify cash forecasting variances and summarize findings for the cash management team
Prepare and instruct cash-related entries, including adjustments, transfers, and FX transactions
Identify and document opportunities for process or technology improvements, automation, and best practices
Develop and implement new business procedures; maintain up-to-date team documentation and communicate changes
Investigate queries from team members, BCI’s custodian, and auditors
Troubleshoot issues using available resources, including custodian reports, the accounting book of record, the investment book of record, and banking portals
Support the implementation of new departmental initiatives and contribute to business continuity planning
Work from our downtown Victoria office.
SALARY RANGEBCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.
The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $90,000 to $109,000.
The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
