The Senior Analyst, Cancer Screening Analytics specializes in data management, performance indicator development and statistical analysis for Ontario’s organized cancer screening programs.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Develop complex analytical methodologies and ensure their consistent application across all cancer screening business areas

  • Lead the development and testing of indicators for cancer screening programs

  • Oversee cancer screening analytical initiatives by creating analytics plans, conducting quantitative analyses, interpreting results, and communicating findings to stakeholders

  • Translate analytical findings for stakeholders through advanced written, verbal, and visual communication

  • Lead and collaborate with team members to develop tools, methods, processes, training materials, documentation, and related deliverables

  • Contribute to research and analytics projects led by Ontario Health and external agencies

  • Develop and implement data quality assurance procedures and lead quality assurance and user acceptance testing for cancer screening data systems

  • Collaborate with the Analytics Team Lead and Manager to deliver high-quality analytics products and adjust work plans to align with priorities and objectives

  • Engage, consult, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including Clinical and Scientific Leads, scientists, leadership, staff, and external partners

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on cancer screening data and methodologies, providing guidance and recommendations to internal and external project teams

  • Demonstrate commitment to core values and support a positive organizational culture

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics, health sciences, health informatics or recognized equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of data analysis experience

  • Advanced SAS programing and experience with SAS macro and SQL is required

  • Skilled in data analysis techniques, statistical methodologies, quality management philosophy, and experimental design

  • Excellent knowledge of database management principles

  • Experience with SAS, Microsoft Office suite, and other analytics software

  • Familiarity with CIHI DAD and NACRS, OHIP and other healthcare datasets an asset

  • Familiarity with cancer screening or cancer in Canada is an asset

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of other programing languages such as R and Python is an asset

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is an asset

  • Knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS) software such as ESRI ArcGIS is an asset

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication abilities, including active listening and clear written, verbal, and visual communication

  • Skilled in delivering informative, well-organized presentations to diverse audiences

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including internal staff and external stakeholders

  • Effective functional leadership with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability

  • Highly motivated and productive, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while delivering high-quality analytical outputs

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
