Job summary

Hiive is redefining how private companies and their shareholders access liquidity through an institutional-grade platform in Canada. We are hiring a Senior Analyst/Associate, Private Fund Secondaries to help build our team focused on liquidity for GPs and LPs in the VC ecosystem.

You will source buyers, facilitate transfers, and prepare materials for partner pitches. You will work closely with the Head of Private Fund Secondaries to manage diligence, deal sourcing, and pipeline reporting, while

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in venture capital secondaries, private market fund administration, sales and trading, investment banking, or related finance role.
  • Experience prospecting and generating leads in high-volume outreach.
  • Experience developing institutional-grade marketing materials for external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client relationships and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members in building relationships with fund managers (GPs), LPs, and external partners.
  • Prospect Net new GPs and LPs with outbound email and cold calling.
  • Own the fund secondary transfer process from start to finish, including diligence and sourcing buyers.
  • Prepare external-facing materials, including pitch decks and partnership proposals.
  • Coordinate with Transaction Services and Operations on manager diligence and asset verification.
  • Track and maintain deal pipeline and CRM, update deal status and next steps.
  • Diligence fund structures to support deal qualification for prospective SPV opportunities.
  • Build and maintain internal trackers and reporting on pipeline volume and deal velocity.

As a Senior Analyst/Associate, Private Fund Secondaries at Hiive, you'll help build our team focused on liquidity and capital-raising solutions for GPs and LPs in the venture capital ecosystem. You'll work closely with the Head of Private Fund Secondaries to build relationships with fund ecosystem stakeholders, diligence fund structures, source potential buyers, facilitate secondary transfers, and prepare materials to pitch Hiive's offering to GPs and external partners. This is a chance to be one of the first team members in one of Hiive's fastest-growing segments and sit at the centre of the VC fund ecosystem.

Responsibilities would include:
  • Supporting senior team members in building relationships with the key stakeholders in a fund's lifecycle: the fund manager (GP), the investor (LP), and external partners, including fund administrators and alternative investment platforms.
  • Prospecting net new GPs and LPs to Hiive by conducting a high volume of outbound email and cold calling.
  • Owning the fund secondary transfer process from start to finish to generate liquidity for LPs and GPs, including fund diligence, sourcing potential buyers, and executing the transfer.
  • Preparing external-facing materials, including pitch decks and partnership proposals.
  • Working with the Transaction Services and Operations teams on manager diligence and asset verification for active deals.
  • Tracking and maintaining the deal pipeline and CRM, keeping deal status, contact history, and next steps current.
  • Diligence fund structures to support deal qualification for prospective SPV opportunities.
  • Building and maintaining internal trackers and reporting on pipeline volume, conversion rates, and deal velocity.
Required skills:
  • 2-4 years of experience in venture capital secondaries, private market fund administration, sales and trading, investment banking, investment sales, or a related finance role.
  • Experience prospecting and generating leads in a high-volume outreach environment.
  • Experience developing institutional-grade marketing materials to pitch ideas and partnerships to external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize ruthlessly while managing multiple client relationships and transaction workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage, high-ambiguity environment.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or the ability to obtain them shortly after joining.
Preferred skills:
  • Exposure to the formation, diligence, and administration of SPVs in VC-backed companies.
  • Familiarity with fund economics (carried interest, management fees, waterfall mechanics).
  • Experience in a front-office origination role working with high-net-worth individuals and/or institutional.
