The main purpose of the position is to help support the maintenance and expansion of the advanced performance measurement and analytical service offering, to support decisions by the investment groups, the Chief Investment Officer group, and senior management. The role is at the intersection of information technology and financial markets to navigate the advanced portfolio management activities within PSP Investments.
As a Senior Analyst/Advisor, Performance Measurement and Analytics, you’ll:
Develop, automate and maintain performance measures, analytics, and models/tools with the purpose of meeting management, Investment Department, and Total Fund needs
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and propose bespoke solutions to meet their performance measurement related needs
Provide the Senior Director and other members of the team with support related to the production of reports, performance requests and projects
Support the Senior Director with regards to the determination and implementation of new performance attribution structures/models and serve as a resource person for the team
Implement controls, documentation and develop tools related to sound management of daily operations
Work closely with the management team and other support teams to improve the service offering
Act as an expert for colleagues, to support local initiatives within the Performance Measurement and Analytics department
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related field
Additional education or marked interest related to Computer/Data Science, a strong asset
Chartered financial analyst (CFA) professional designation, Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM), an asset
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in investment performance measurement, risk and/or related functions within the investment management industry
Understanding and general interest in investments, private/public markets, portfolio construction, and benchmarking
Advanced abilities in programming and business intelligence (SQL, Python, Power BI) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
Advanced skills and appetite for math and a solid understanding of financial instruments with a strong interest in quantitative analysis
Knowledge of Statpro, Simcorp or other performance software
Bilingualism: English and French(Frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
