A career as a Senior Analyst, in the Risk Analytics team at National Bank means playing a pivotal role in reporting and model development for credit economic capital, concentration risk, and credit risk analytics . Your role

Economic Capital Management : Accurately produce and report Economic Capital (EC) and enhance its underlying models and methodologies.

Concentration Risk Monitoring : Quantify and monitor concentration risk within the bank's credit portfolio, including developing and enhancing related models.

Credit Model Support : Provide support for model development, implementation, and back-testing in other credit-related areas like IFRS 9 and stress testing.

Risk Analysis & Reporting : Conduct in-depth analysis of risk results and prepare insightful reports for senior management and regulators.

Documentation & Compliance : Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for models and risk processes to meet internal and regulatory standards.

Process improvement : Identify, recommend, and implement improvements across models, risk calculation, reporting, analysis, and control.

Stakeholder Collaboration : Coordinate with internal teams and collaborate with various stakeholders, including Risk, Capital, Business, IT, Model Validation, and Internal Audit, while also addressing ad-hoc requests from management and regulators.

The Risk Analytics team is made up of over 20 professionals who work collaboratively to stay ahead of regulatory expectations and industry best practices. You’ll report to the Senior Manager, and be part of a dynamic environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking.

What you need to succeed

  • A master’s or Ph.D degree in a relevant field such as Financial Engineering, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in risk management, ideally with exposure to model development, implementation, validation or data analytics in economic capital, stress testing, IFRS-9 or A-IRB.
  • Hands-on experience with SAS, SQL, and Excel (including VBA), and familiarity with Moody’s RiskFrontier is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Experience in risk capital production, and regulatory reporting (Pillar I and II).
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements such as OSFI CAR, E19, E23 guidelines.
