Job summary

Thomson Reuters is enhancing its Cyber Defense capability to address AI-driven threats across AI-enabled products, services, and enterprise operations. The Distinguished Engineer will lead through engineering depth, architecture, and cross-team collaboration within a large security organization.

This role emphasizes defining technical direction for AI threat defense, developing detection content, and ensuring secure software development lifecycle practices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security architecture, threat detection, incident response, or related field.
• Experience as Principal, Staff, Distinguished Engineer, or equivalent senior technical leader in a large organization.
• Hands-on Cyber Defense: detection engineering, security operations, threat hunting, security analytics, incident response, security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for AI threat defense across Thomson Reuters.
• Define monitoring, detection, investigation, and response for AI-enabled attacks and AI systems.
• Develop defensive approaches for AI-specific threats including prompt injection and model/data poisoning.
• Partner with Product Engineering and AppSec to establish secure patterns for AI-enabled products and services.
• Ensure AI security requirements and telemetry are designed into SDLC and production environments.
• Strengthen telemetry, detection, monitoring, and incident response for AI threats.
