Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead architecture and design for AI initiatives from concept to production deployment. The role involves creating end-to-end solution sketches, defining non-functional requirements, and ensuring alignment with governance and enterprise standards.

You will collaborate with AI Engineering, Data Engineering and Security teams to deliver scalable, secure AI platforms, including Azure OpenAI, Databricks and modern AI tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field and 7+ years in solution architecture or related disciplines.
• Experience delivering AI, machine learning or intelligent automation solutions in large, regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and solution design quality for AI initiatives from concept through production deployment.
• Create candidate architectures, end-to-end solution sketches and target-state designs.
• Produce architecture deliverables including system context, logical/physical architecture, security, data flow and ADRs.
• Define non-functional requirements for security, privacy, resiliency, scalability, observability and cost efficiency.
• Ensure delivered solutions align with architecture standards and governance controls.
• Support architecture reviews, governance forums and production readiness assessments.
• Design reusable patterns and reference architectures for generative AI, agentic AI, RAG, and knowledge management solutions.
• Establish guardrails for security, privacy, compliance and operational support.
