What You will Be Doing

The Enterprise Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence team is the centre of AI excellence within CIBC and is leading the way in applying the best practices in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing, leveraging the latest technology and platforms. We collaborate with leading academic institutes in AI and machine learning to promote the exchange of ideas and enrich our talent. Our work covers every aspect of the research lifecycle, from partnering with academia to building production systems. We work with product, technology, and business partners to apply the state-of-the-art in AI to our business.

With your practical experience in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, you will apply your knowledge and experience of advanced modelling to solve challenging business problems and build innovative solutions. You’ll interact with groups across the organization, including product, segments, marketing, channels, risk, and capital markets. You’ll work with real-world structured and unstructured datasets to produce end-to-end solutions, taking models from experiment to deployment.

At CIBC, we enable an optimal work environment for you to thrive. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement, spending 1-3 days per week on-site, with other days remote.

How You’ll Succeed

• Artificial Intelligence Expertise: Provide AI solutions to solve business problems leveraging statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, GenAI, and optimization techniques. Ability to conduct self-directed research using non-traditional resources.

• Analytical Partner: Work with business units to understand needs, opportunities, and pain points. Translate data into insights and inform decision-making. Build strong relationships and become a trusted analytical partner.

• Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Improvement: Maintain a strong desire to enhance AI/ML techniques. Collaborate with data experts to understand data and engineer features. Work effectively with data scientists and engineers to develop data products. Mentor junior team members and offer technical leadership.

Who You Are

• Educational Background: Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.

• Experience: Demonstrated experience in machine learning, NLP, NLU, and other AI techniques with tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with AI toolkits such as Python or R. Proficient in SQL/Spark scripting, developing robust Python code outside notebooks, creating APIs, and using Git.
