Job summary

Vanguard's EAiR team seeks a Senior AI Research Scientist to advance research in LLMs, Agentic AI, Reinforcement Learning, Knowledge Graphs, and Responsible AI. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate novel ideas into practical Vanguard solutions.

The role emphasizes publishing results at top conferences and building enterprise-grade AI capabilities to empower Vanguard clients, while maintaining rigorous ethics and governance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years AI/ML research experience in industry or academia.
• Experience with ML lifecycle and methods such as Transformers, Diffusion Models, SHAP, LLM and GenAI.
• Strong software engineering with NumPy, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented code and build reproducible models.

Responsibilities

• Research new techniques to advance AI research aligning with Vanguard strategic goals.
• Publish findings at AI/ML conferences including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, EMNLP, ACL, AAAI.
• Build industry-leading algorithms for LLM fine-tuning, Autonomous Agents, Knowledge Graphs and Generative AI.
• Perform deep diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analyses to support data-driven decisions.
• Design, test, deploy, and maintain innovative data and ML solutions to accelerate business.
• Create business value through research productization and deployment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical approaches.
