Job summary

StackHawk Inc. is hiring a senior engineer to own the agentic loop in a security-focused SaaS platform. You will design the find, fix, and verify loop, extend agent capabilities, and work across microservices with Kotlin, Java, Rust, and modern tooling.

This onsite Denver role collaborates with product, security, and go-to-market teams to deliver real customer impact. You will contribute to the core platform, improve the scan engine and APIs, and help shape how agents learn from real-world

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and shipping production SaaS software.
• Deep in at least one statically typed language (Kotlin/Java/Rust) and strong for agent tooling.
• Experience with microservices in modern cloud environments, containers, and orchestration.
• Solid API design instincts and the tooling that goes with it.
• Obsessive about automation and automated testing.
• Experience designing and building agent loops with tool calling and retries.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the find, fix, and verify loop powering agentic security workflows.
• Build and own the tool layer used by coding agents to reach the platform.
• Extend agent skills and open-source capabilities.
• Do context engineering to optimize agent behavior and data visibility.
• Build eval harnesses for non-deterministic systems and define measurable success.
• Develop core product features in a microservices architecture with Kotlin, Java, Rust, gRPC, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and Gradle.
• Design and build APIs for UI and customer use.
• Create developer-facing CLI tooling.
• Integrate with GitHub, GitLab, CI systems, IDEs, and agent runtimes.
