Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an engineer to lead a team responsible for structure and system installation conceptual layouts for Airframes on new and existing aircraft programs. You will interface with stress, systems, interiors and program management to drive bids, viability, and design integrity.

You will generate preliminary layouts using 3D modeling, provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues, and contribute to weight-savings initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of engineers on aircraft programs.
• Strong collaboration with stress, systems, interiors and program management.
• Ability to generate preliminary design studies and layouts.
• Proven problem-solving skills for design/manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team who will develop structure and system installation conceptual layouts for the complete Airframe on new and existing aircraft programs.
• Closely interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics, mass properties, etc.
• Working closely with Program Management Office, responsible to provide customization bids and ensure their viability for both cost, schedule and certifiability within restraint response times.
• Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using 3D modeling.
• Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
• Generate and execute weight savings ideas.
• Support directly other engineering and operations departments.
• Support or lead design and program reviews with partner/suppliers.
• Provide status for project and functional management.
• Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process.
