Senior Advisor - Portfolio Risk Coordination and Management

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Advisor, Portfolio Risk Coordination & Management to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of project and portfolio risk management processes and frameworks. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring effective risk oversight, enabling data-driven decisions and optimizing portfolio strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement portfolio risk management processes, methodologies, frameworks, and controls to minimize risk exposure.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prepare risk management plans in collaboration with project managers, project controllers, and stakeholders.
  • Calculate and monitor project and portfolio risk allowances, preparing risk reports and mitigation plans for leadership review.
  • Partner with HSES, Enterprise Risk teams, and contractors/consultants to define mitigation strategies for material risks.
  • Provide independent risk reviews and challenge sponsors on risk classifications and associated consequences.
  • Support the Post Investment Review (PIR) process, ensuring lessons learned from a risk perspective inform future projects.
  • Follow up with risk owners to ensure mitigation actions are executed and asset risks are closed post-project completion.
  • Facilitate risk management workshops as needed.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, portfolio risk management, and/or project risk management in a heavy industry context.
  • Proven experience in developing roadmaps for risk and strategically driven asset uplift programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for risk-related data modeling.
  • Intermediate experience with Primavera P6.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or a business-related discipline.

Please note that you will be required to work in an industrial environment, requiring hands-on field supervision. This may include working at heights, dirty/dusty and noisy environments, and confined spaces. All personal protective equipment and site-specific training will be provided.
