Role Overview

As a Senior Advisor, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk in the Counterparty, Liquidity and Matching Risk Oversight and Monitoring Administrative Department, you will define and implement liquidity and interest rate risk initiatives for Desjardins Group’s banking activities. Your expertise will be crucial in analysis, calculation, and reporting of these risks. You will coordinate with stakeholders involved in risk management and help establish best practices for risk frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to analysis and reporting of liquidity and interest rate risks internally and externally.
  2. Participate in market monitoring and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal governance.
  3. Improve processes, models, analyses, quality controls, and reporting continuously.
  4. Perform ad hoc analyses in response to unexpected situations.
  5. Assist in developing liquidity and interest rate risk governance documents.
  6. Maintain and develop the QRM application and related IT tools.
  7. Monitor regulatory developments related to liquidity and interest rate risks.
  8. Establish guidelines aligned with the organization’s risk appetite.
  9. Identify, analyze, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions.

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in liquidity risk and interest rate risk (matching).
  • Experience projecting balance sheets for liquidity needs and net interest income.
  • Proficiency in French is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of on- and off-balance sheet financial instruments (derivatives, repos, securitization).
  • Knowledge of Basel regulations.
