A leading financial services group is seeking a Senior Advisor for Incidents and Business Continuity. This role involves coordinating business continuity programs, managing incidents, and enhancing operational resilience. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience, and fluency in both English and French. As a Senior Advisor, Incidents and Business Continuity, you help coordinate the business continuity monitoring program for Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG) as part of the Governance and Performance Department. You serve as a first line of defence specialist and assist DGIG’s business sectors with incident management. You also oversee the development of business continuity mechanisms in line with both industry and Desjardins Group best practices. You actively participate in initiatives to optimize monitoring methodology by designing and operationalizing controls. With other team members, you coordinate the implementation of controls and following up with the business sectors’ action plans. You lead and influence different stakeholders on initiatives related to the probable materialization of emerging risks that require DGIG or cross-sector coordination. You also play a role in the training to raise awareness and strengthen knowledge of business continuity in the business sectors. You help sectors consolidate business continuity best practices and the directions set by the second and third lines of defence. You play a key role in incident management and continuity, with both the operational sectors and DGIG’s executive unit. Your rigour and ability to stay level-headed are important assets in this role. More specifically, you will be required to :
Ensure continuity incident management with various stakeholders (e.g.: second line of defense, operational, executive, PIP, compliance/regulatory, legal)
Help develop all activities required to implement Desjardins Group’s business continuity monitoring program
Advanced-level proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Follow up as needed on action plan developments with the first line of defence
Contribute to risk management initiatives and do third-party risk and business continuity analyses
Monitor policies and procedures in accordance with the Autorité des marchés financiers and other regulatory authorities and help draft business continuity management frameworks and procedures
Help prepare operational and executive reports
Help develop and implement new approaches to operational resilience
Represent the Business Continuity team before decision-making bodies or committees and represent DGIG in dealings with the Desjardins Group cross-sector crisis unit

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in incident, business continuity and/or operational risk management
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience in a second line of defence monitoring role
Experience in executive writing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance sector
Knowledge of French is required
Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
24/7 on-call availability for incident management, alternating with your colleague
