Job summary

Humber College, located at North Campus with travel to Lakeshore and Downtown campuses, is seeking an Advisor, Human Rights & Harassment to support a respectful, inclusive environment. The role requires expertise in investigations, mediation, and policy development, reporting to the Manager of Human Rights, Harassment & Employment Equity.

The successful candidate will lead investigation plans, address concerns, provide early intervention, and develop tools for timely resolution, while ensuring

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience investigating and resolving human rights complaints using trauma-informed and anti-discrimination principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the AODA, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Employment Equity Act, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, and other relevant human rights legislation
  • Experience conducting workplace assessments and handling confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute investigation plans in a timely and fair manner
  • Address human rights and harassment concerns through informal enquiries, problem-solving, mediation and formal investigation
  • Provide early intervention and referrals using alternative dispute-resolution mechanisms
  • Provide consultation to Humber community on human rights and harassment concerns
  • Participate in policy development and review
  • Develop and evaluate outreach initiatives, communications, and training
  • Maintain complaint management records
  • Ensure investigations align with Humber policies and codes
  • Conduct research on complaint-specific issues
  • Handle a caseload with strong organization and judgment
