JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Employee Relations, you will be responsible for providing a full range of high-quality services, advice, and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure the NCC's compliance with its health and safety obligations and the adoption of best practices. You will also keep abreast of health and safety trends and play a central role in the research, development, recommendation, implementation and monitoring of activities and policies related to health, safety and wellness programs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION : A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in human resources management or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position to be filled.

EXPERIENCE : Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in each of the following criteria :

  • Researching, organizing and developing a full range of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) services for clients (preferably within the Federal jurisdiction).
  • Interpreting legislation and policies, providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on requirements related to OHS matters.
  • Planning, leading, developing and contributing to the development of organizational OHS prevention programs, such as policies, directives, guidelines, or initiatives.
  • Reviewing, updating, and implementing hazard prevention programs and conducting comprehensive hazard and risk analyses across various operational settings.
  • Leading incident investigations, performing root cause analyses, and driving corrective action plans.
  • Supporting and advising Occupational Health and Safety Committees, including facilitating meetings, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and promoting active participation.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of the Canada Labour Code (Part II), legislation, policies, trends and best practices in health and safety and well-being programs.
