Job summary

National Bank of Canada’s fund accounting team seeks a Senior Advisor to apply IFRS standards, verify financial statement notes, and participate in audits for mutual funds and ETFs. You will analyze product impacts on statements and collaborate with internal and external partners to meet client needs.

You will contribute to knowledge sharing, maintain documentation, and help develop colleagues in a dynamic, team‑oriented environment with flexible telecommuting based on needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Experience in analyzing financial statement notes and IFRS standards.
• Knowledge of mutual funds, ETF, and auditing financial statements.
• Excellent communication skills, good time and priority management.
• Critical thinking oriented towards problem-solving and rigor.

Responsibilities

• Act as an expert in applying accounting and regulatory standards, esp. IFRS.
• Verify accuracy of data and notes to financial statements per investment strategy.
• Participate in annual audits of mutual funds and ETFs.
• Analyze impact of changes or new products on operations and financial statements.
• Identify needs of partners/clients and assist decision-making with recommendations.
• Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external partners (colleagues, clients, auditors) in shared activities.
• Provide specialized advice to all parties.
• Contribute to colleagues’ development by sharing knowledge and updating documentation.
