Job description

The Data Office is aiming to accelerate how data quality is improved as a strategic tool for Desjardins Group. This is to further ground our business practices in data and analytics. The Data Quality Practice Department is looking for talent to guide Desjardins as it grows in this area. As a Senior Data Governance Advisor, you help define and implement data quality management processes, allowing optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy policies and security in mind. You serve as a data quality specialist advisor and subject matter expert for various stakeholders, as well as a resource person for decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

  1. Help data producers and users understand how to valorize data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance.
  2. Serve as a specialist advisor to teams in developing and applying data quality management processes and controls.
  3. Develop, operationalize and improve standards, processes, tools and best practices related to data quality foundations.
  4. Coordinate identification of the sector’s data governance needs and opportunities.
  5. Contribute to projects as a data quality management expert.

What you bring to the table:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business intelligence, IT or statistics or in a related field.
  2. A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including three years in a data governance role.
  3. Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
  4. Knowledge of French is required.
  5. Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients.
  6. Proficiency in analytics tools and their use in the business world.
  7. Proficiency in SQL to create and optimize complex requests.
  8. Knowledge of or interest in data governance or data quality management.
